Cilutions DMB Media Players offer users a feature rich, fully configurable digital signage and video-on-demand appliance. Our player comes pre-installed with all of the software that you will ever need to configure, implement, and manage your network of screens. Whether you choose to manage your screen(s) via Cilutions Digital Signage Network, or choose to manage the boxes within your own network, you will find Cilutions dedicated media player the perfect fit.

Digital Signage
Our digital signage set-top box solution makes it easy for any organization to offer digital signage screens to their audience. Video-On-Demand
The same set-top box that offers your audience a first class digital signage solution, can be used to offer a video-on-demand service as well. As the network operator, you control which screens have access to which videos and deliver videos to each set-top box with an easy to use drag-n-drop interface. In this way, for example, you can deliver employee training videos to each store in your network. Or, as a network operator, you can offer your customers a Pay-per-View application; where you control how much to charge for each video in your library.

On Demand Video Record
The A540 Media Player offers PVR capability where a user (either locally using a remote control or remotely using an SNMP command) can initiate recording of a live video feed storing it on the A540’s hard drive for subsequent playback.

Touch Screen Kiosk
With no additional software or hardware requirements, the same set-top box can be used to offer a touch screen kiosk application. The set-top box works with major touch screen monitors on the market today. These touch screen applications can be used, for example, to offer visitors information inside a building lobby, or to provide a state-of-the-art Video-On-Demand application where the video plays in response to a user's touch. Best of all, you can easily switch between a classic digital signage screen, and a touch screen application. The currently displayed screen, whether digital signage or touch screen enabled video-on-demand, can be remotely set from a customer's headquarters - placing no requirements on local personnel.

Live Video
There is more than one way to offer Live video in your digital signage or video-on-demand network. To add high quality, Live video streaming over the Internet to each of the set-top boxes in your network, Cilutions offers two products; the DMB Darwin Injector and Streaming Transport Receiver.

DMB Darwin Injector
The Cilutions Injector Service relays a live video stream from an encoder into the Cilutions Modified Darwin Streaming Server. The injector is a software application that can run as a Windows Service on the same machine as Darwin.

Streaming Transport Receiver
The Streaming Transport Receiver is a proxy middleware for Cilutions set-top box with support for real-time packet loss and transport stream timing repair. This proxy works together with the DMB Darwin Injector and the Darwin Streaming Server to provide a high quality video streaming service over the Internet.

To include Live TV from an existing cable or satellite provider (not streamed over the Internet) in your digital signage network requires an encoder at each location. Please contact Cilutions for information on the type of encoder that is required and how to purchase. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the growing library of HTTP Live Streams that are made available on the Internet. Each set-top box comes equiped with HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) support, which can be included in your digital signage or video-on-demand screens.

HTTP Live Streaming (HLS)
Cilutions set-top box is the first digital signage appliance to offer HTTP Live Streaming support. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is an HTTP-based media streaming communications protocol implemented by Apple Inc. Since its requests use only standard HTTP transactions, HTTP Live Streaming is capable of traversing any firewall or proxy server that lets through standard HTTP traffic, unlike UDP-based protocols such as RTP. What this means for you is that you can take advantage of the rapidly growing library of HTTP Live Streaming video content available on the Internet. For example, there are thousands of Live video channels available on Livestream.com that can be used in your digital signage or video-on-demand applications. With no additional hardware or software costs, you can show a live video channel in one portion of your screen while continuing to deliver a customized message to your audience with the rest of the screen. Click here to see the list of HTTP Live Streaming channels that are offered with the purchase of an A140 or A540 Media Player. Or, if you already have a library of video files that you would like to include in your network, you can use the Wowza Media Server to HTTP Stream your videos over the Internet from your server to each of the boxes in your network. Whether your network is running from your server, or you choose to take advantage of Cilutions Digital Signage Network, technical support comes with the purchase of any of our digital sigange set-top boxes. Cilutions support personnel would be happy to discuss with you how you can can take advantage of HTTP Live Streaming in your network.
