How to Issue SNMP Commands to Simulate I/R Remote

Postby Henry.G » Mon Sep 12, 2011 4:30 pm

I understand that I can issue an SNMP Command from a remote computer to simulate the operation of the I/R Remote Control pointed at an A130 STB. What is the MIB variable I use to do this and what is the set of commands I can issue?

Here is the MIB description which includes the set of I/R Remote commands issued from an SNMP Manager to an A130:

a130ConfRemoteControl OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX DisplayString (SIZE (0..255))
MAX-ACCESS read-write
STATUS current
DESCRIPTION
"
Remote Control. The value is one of the following:
KEY_0
KEY_1
KEY_2
KEY_3
KEY_4
KEY_5
KEY_6
KEY_7
KEY_8
KEY_9
KEY_OK
KEY_ENTER
KEY_BACK
KEY_STOP
KEY_GUIDE
KEY_UP
KEY_DOWN
KEY_LEFT
KEY_RIGHT
KEY_NEXT
KEY_PGUP
KEY_PGDOWN
KEY_MENU
KEY_STANDBY
"
::={ amino130ConfGroup 26 }

Note that in the later versions the A130 and all Amino STBs support KEY_10 through KEY_96 (double digit screenlists); KEY_97, KEY_98 and KEY_99 are reserved for internal use.
