Basic Screenlist Attributes

Postby Cilutions Support » Mon Jun 06, 2011 7:06 pm

Each Screenlist has a set of required attributes which are necessary to correctly create and send the defined screens in the Screenlist to the remote DMB Media Players for playback. These attributes are:

Resolution: The Amino boxes support Standard Definition and High Definition graphics resolutions. If your screen is in landscape orientation (most common), then the Resolution attribute will have a Standard Definition setting of 720x480 or a High Definition setting of 1280x720. Alternatively, if your screen will be shown in portrait orientation then the Resolution attribute will be 480x720 for Standard Definition or 720x1280 for High Definition resolution.

It is important to choose the correct resolution before you begin building your screens. The amount of space available to add assets will depend upon the choice of Standard or High Definition resolution. For example, to add a background image to a Screen with a Standard Definition resolution the image should be 720 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall. To add a background image to a Screen with a High Definition resolution, the image should be 1280 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall.
Mount Point: Mount Point is used for DMB Media Players without an internal hard drive (e.g., Amino's A130) for storing assets. Here, the Screenlist can point to an external drive location (e.g., an NFS server) which the DMB Media Player will mount and access when the associated Screenlist is active.
Content Directory: The location of the Content directory where assets reside. This is the working area used on the Windows platform where Screen Builder looks for assets (e.g., videos, images) to build screens (e.g., C:\ScreenBuilder\XYZCorp\content)
Publishing Profile: A Publishing Profile designates the directory location and method used to publish assets and metadata for distribution to DMB Media Player(s). Selecting a Publishing Profile will populate the following Screenlist attributes: Client Directory, Publish Directory, and Transfer Directory.
Client Directory: Client Directory is the location of the assets and configuration files used to reconcile during publishing. This should be provided by the DMB Sender Administrator. It can either be a full pathname file directory or, for remote machines, an FTP location with logon information. This field can be automatically set by selecting a Publishing Profile.
Publish Directory: Publish Directory is the location to put any new files during publishing. This should be provided by the DMB Sender Administrator, and can be automatically set by selecting a Publishing Profile.
Transfer Directory: Transfer Directory designates the location to use as a temporary staging area when FTPing files during publishing. Files sent to the Transfer Directory, once complete, are moved into the Publish Directory in a single operation so they appear to the DMB Sender fully sized. This field can be automatically set by selecting a Publishing Profile.
