rss Attributes

The rss asset is a multi-field text string, formatted as a Title and Description, which scrolls from right to left. The RSS source can either be an external URL or an RSS formatted file stored locally. Its attributes are:

Name: A user-defined string which can be a helpful reference to individuals creating or modifying assets. This field has no impact on the DMB player when the asset is played.
Source: A URL which represents the web feed containing title and description fields or the name of a file containing RSS formatted title and description fields to render. If the Source is not specified then the Playlist attribute applies.
Playlist: A text file containing the list of RSS formatted files to play. If the Playlist is not specified then the Source attribute applies.
Playlist Order: Can be random or sequential and designates the playback order of the RSS files in the playlist.
X and Y Coordinates: Pixel addressing of the upper left-hand corner used to position this asset on the screen.
Width and Height in Pixels: Size of the text zone. 1280x720 is a full screen setting on an HD Amino STB.
Font: One of the built-in fonts available for use (e.g., Arial, Frankfurt, Helvetica, Nasalization). The fonts are selectable from a pull-down box in Screen Builder and must match the capabilities of the player on a STB.
Font Size: The font size in pixels.
Foreground and Background Color: Foreground is the color of the text. Background is the color of the area, based on width and height, that the foreground text does not cover. Values are represented as ARGB notation (e.g., 255.0.0.0 for black). The first digit represents transparency with 0 being fully transparent and 255 being fully opaque.
Rate: The scrolling speed; values are from 1 to 5 with the fastest as 1.
Start, Separator, End Text/File: A text string (e.g., ***) or image file (e.g., rss_icon.png) used to delimit the start and end of the complete RSS story and to separate the title from the description.
Maximum On-Screen Stories: The maximum number of RSS stories, from 1 through 8, that can appear on the screen simultaneously. The default is 2 meaning that a new story will begin at the right-most section of the screen zone (the starting point for all scrolling text) when the last character of the preceding story is at the halfway point (i.e., 2 stories on the screen simultaneously).
