How do I play a Quicktime video?

How do I play a Quicktime video?

Postby Edward.P » Mon Apr 25, 2011 3:12 pm

With the DMB Screen Builder, I just pushed a Screen with a Quicktime (.mov) video to my Amino A540 set-top box. It doesn't work. Can you tell me how I can get a Quicktime video to play?

The Amino suite of set-top boxes can only play MPEG Transport Stream videos. Transport Stream is the standard format used broadcast systems such as DVB and ATSC.

Use the following link to learn more about Transport Stream video:

You will have to convert your videos into Transport Stream playback. While there are a number of conversion programs capable of doing this, we recommend Episode 6 - by Telestream

I tried this application, and I am still seeing problems with the way that the video is playing. It seems to "freeze" when the video starts to play and cuts off the last couple of seconds at the end of the video.

You need to add a few "black frames" at the beginning and end of the video. Consult the documentation in Episode 6 (or whatever video encoding tool you're using) for how best to do this.
